Get ready to light up your holiday cookout with the most refreshing, smoky twist on a classic! This isn’t your grandma’s lemonade – we’re firing up the grill to infuse these lemons with a flavor that’ll have everyone saying, “Ooh-ahh!”
Prep the Lemons: Cut each lemon in half. In a small dish, add sugar. Dip the cut side of each lemon into the sugar, coating it well.
Smoke ‘Em! Preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350°F). Place the sugared lemons cut-side down on the grill grates. Grill for 5-7 minutes, or until the sugar is caramelized and you see those beautiful grill marks. Remove from the grill and let them cool slightly.
Juice It Up: Once the lemons are cool enough to handle, juice them into a large pitcher.
Mix & Mingle: Add the water to the pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved. If you’re feeling festive, add the vodka or bourbon!
Chill Out: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Serve with Flair! Pour over ice, garnish with mint, lemon slices, and a few blueberries or raspberries for that patriotic pop!
Want a kid-friendly version? Skip the alcohol and add a splash of sparkling cider or club soda for some fizz!
This Smoked Lemonade is guaranteed to be a hit at your holiday cookout. It’s refreshing, flavorful, and has that special smoky something that makes it unforgettable. Cheers to a happy and delicious holiday!
